Girls Hockey

Girls HS Hockey Comes to Albany!
Albany School District is pleased to announce a new school sport for high school girls! Beginning with the 2017-18 season Albany High School is part of the WIAA Rock County Fury Girls Hockey Co-op. Albany has two students who have made the Varsity team:  Haley Knauf (sophomore) and Alyssa Knauf (freshman). Both Knauf girls currently play on Team Wisconsin Tier 1 Hockey before and after high school season and previously played Bantam hockey in Monroe.

When asked about the upcoming season, Dave Soddy, Head Fury Coach responded, “The Rock County Fury Girls High School Hockey Co-op is happy to announce the addition of Albany. The Fury reached state two years ago and were sectional runner-up last season. Sisters Alyssa and Haley Knauf will be a great addition to a very strong group of girls and I see them making a big impact right away.”

Schools in the Fury co-op include: Albany, Brodhead, Beloit Memorial, Beloit Turner, Clinton, Janesville Craig, Janesville Parker, Milton, and Monroe. Home ice is split between three arenas: Edwards Ice Arena, Janesville Ice Arena, and SLICE in Monroe. Check out the schedule at the link below and come out to see some exciting hockey games!
