ATTN STUDENTS:  TOMORROW, NOVEMBER 1st IS THE END OF 1st QUARTER.  Are all your assignments turned in and tests made up?

The ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) will be offered at Albany High School on Wednesday November 13th.  If you are interested, please see Ms. Schulz to sign up by Nov. 7th and receive additional information.  

Any Albany HS wrestlers interested in wrestling for Evansville-Albany this winter should see Mr. Doescher by THIS Friday, November 1st.  This is a very important deadline if you are interested in being a HS wrestler this year.  

There will be a HS GBB & HS BBB parent/athlete meeting on Monday, November 4th @ 6:30pm.  The boys meeting will take place in the cafeteria & the girls meeting will take place in the media room by the library.  All interested HS players for HS boys basketball or girls basketball should attend along with a parent or guardian.  This meeting should take about 1/2 hour.  Students that have an FFA meeting at 7:00pm will be able to leave to attend the FFA meeting at 7:00pm.  Please let Coach Doescher or Coach Allen know if you have any questions!
The blood drive, sponsored by the National Honor Society, will be on Monday, Nov. 4th from 12:00-5:00 in the small gym. If you are 16 years old you MUST have a signed parental consent form to be able to donate. Please see Mrs. Swise in room 112 for this form. All donors MUST present a photo ID. If you do not have a photo ID, you cannot donate. Please talk to an NHS member or Mrs. Swise if you have any questions or concerns. 
The "Snow Much to Read" Scholastic Book Fair will be open for students Monday, November 4 through Thursday, November 7th at the end of conferences!  
Albany HS girls & boys basketball seasons are right around the corner.  Below is a link if you are interested in ordering any Albany basketball apparel.  All orders are online and paid with credit card.  There is a FIRM deadline of 11:59pm on Tuesday, November 5th.  We understand that the deadline is before the basketball seasons start, but getting our orders in early allows for a quicker turn-around.  (Hoping Thanksgiving)  This opportunity to order apparel is open to anyone.  If you would like to order you have until November 5th at 11:59pm to do so.   Please let Mr. Doescher know if you have any questions!
For your convenience, the lost and found is now on a table outside the office.  Please come get your stuff!!!!!!
Attn HS Boys:  There is a pair of large boys sandals in the lost and found that have been here most of this year plus gym clothes - come claim them.
Also a ring was found in Mrs. Swise's Spanish room. Come claim it in the District office.

Any Junior interested in participating in Badger Boys or Badger Girls State this summer needs to see Ms. Schulz by November 15th.

The Albany cross country team is hosting the 26th annual Baertschi Invite TOMORROW.  High school and middle school runners run the first six races beginning at 9:00 with an open class running at noon.  Come on out to support our teams! 
Tonight will mark the end of an era of EA home football games.  It will be Senior Night and for one final home game the communities of Evansville & Albany will come together to support the EA Blue Devil program.  This season has had many obstacles & adversity and yet through it all Evan Blumer has stayed committed and dedicated to the EA Blue Devil football program.  His leadership, effort, & dedication exemplifies what senior leadership & being a captain is all about.  On behalf of the Albany School District we would like to thank you Evan for your dedication and commitment & we wish you the best on Senior Night!  Game time tonight is 7:00pm at Evansville HS vs. McFarland.  Get over to Evansville to cheer on Evan and all of the Blue Devils.  "When all the dust settles it will be my dedication, leadership, & effort that will be remembered."

Blackhawk Technical College is hosting Tech Exploration Days to get first-hand experience and information about different departments during October.  If you are interested please see Ms. Schulz THIS WEEK for more information. 
 
Albany High School is pleased to accept nominations for inductions into the Albany Comets Athletic Hall of Fame. Nominees should be people who have had a positive/significant impact to Albany athletics over the years. A nominee may have had an impact to Albany athletics as an athlete, coach, fan, volunteer or in some other capacity. A typed or written letter explaining who your nominee is and what they accomplished or the significant impact that they had on Albany HS Athletics can be given to Mr. Doescher. Nominations will be accepted until October 15th.
