Today is a B day

Students in MS Band and Choir:  5th hour is 7/8th grade Band Day and 6th grade Choir.

Attention FFA members: your FFA fruit will be delivered TODAY.  You need to make sure you come pick it up by 5:00 TODAY or have your parents contact Mr. Rupp to make other arrangements. 
 
All middle school students interested in wrestling this year: there will be a meeting with Coach Schwab in Mr. Doescher's room during lunch TODAY.  We will be discussing important dates, transportation, and expectations. 
 
There will be a representative from UW Rock County and UW Whitewater here at 1:00 pm, if you are interested in speaking with this representative please stop and get a pass from Ms. Schulz.

Tonight at the Boys Basketball game vs. Monticello, the National Honor Society will be hosting a half-time shoot out.  For $1 you will get a chance to shoot either a free throw or 3-pointer (depending on your age) and if you make it you will win a Gatorade.

Any Junior boy or girl interested in attending Badger Boys or Badger Girls State this summer to learn more about government, leadership, and service please see Ms. Schulz for the application.  

HS STUDENTS:  READ YOUR EMAIL about your movie and game options on December 21st.

On Thursday, December 27th, the Albany HS Girls & Boys Basketball programs will travel to Parkview HS to participate in a night of competition.  This night will also be a night of competitions of who can pack the gym with their school's colored JDRF t-shirt for a great cause.  Parkview High School is sponsoring JDRF Basketball Night and is selling t-shirts.  JDRF stands for JUVENILE DIABETES RESEARCH FOUNDATION and 100% of t-shirt proceeds will be put towards JDRF.  Albany's color will be orange and Parkview's will be blue.  T-shirts are $12.00 per shirt and youth & adult sizes are available.  Adult shirts that are XXL need to add $2.00 in cost and XXX L shirts add $3.25 in cost.  Cash or checks are accepted for these shirts.  (Checks can be made to Parkview Basketball) Check your school email for an order from or you can contact Mr. Derik Doescher to place an order.  Forms & money are due by NEXT MONDAY 12/17/18.

Let's help Albany's EMS Holiday Collection by bringing in new and unopened personal care items for our local families in need. These items can be brought into our Art Room:  Personal Care Products: shampoo, soap, toothpaste, deodorant, etc. Instant food: Mac and Cheese, granola bars, cereal, etc. Gift cards are welcome too.  Collection runs through NEXT TUESDAY the 18th of December. 

Seniors need to submit their yearbook photos to Mrs. Bednar by the end of December. They can be digital or physical copies. Otherwise she will use this year's school picture.

Yearbooks are available for $60 until the end of December, or $70 afterward until supplies run out. Orders can be placed online at www.yearbooksforever.com or there are order forms available at school.

The Albany cross country team is hosting the 26th annual Baertschi Invite TOMORROW.  High school and middle school runners run the first six races beginning at 9:00 with an open class running at noon.  Come on out to support our teams! 
Tonight will mark the end of an era of EA home football games.  It will be Senior Night and for one final home game the communities of Evansville & Albany will come together to support the EA Blue Devil program.  This season has had many obstacles & adversity and yet through it all Evan Blumer has stayed committed and dedicated to the EA Blue Devil football program.  His leadership, effort, & dedication exemplifies what senior leadership & being a captain is all about.  On behalf of the Albany School District we would like to thank you Evan for your dedication and commitment & we wish you the best on Senior Night!  Game time tonight is 7:00pm at Evansville HS vs. McFarland.  Get over to Evansville to cheer on Evan and all of the Blue Devils.  "When all the dust settles it will be my dedication, leadership, & effort that will be remembered."

If you plan on bringing a guest to the Homecoming dance who is not from our school you need to have the proper form filled out and turned in to the office by the end of the day next Thursday. Forms are available from Mrs. Uhe.
Blackhawk Technical College is hosting Tech Exploration Days to get first-hand experience and information about different departments during October.  If you are interested please see Ms. Schulz THIS WEEK for more information. 
 
Albany High School is pleased to accept nominations for inductions into the Albany Comets Athletic Hall of Fame. Nominees should be people who have had a positive/significant impact to Albany athletics over the years. A nominee may have had an impact to Albany athletics as an athlete, coach, fan, volunteer or in some other capacity. A typed or written letter explaining who your nominee is and what they accomplished or the significant impact that they had on Albany HS Athletics can be given to Mr. Doescher. Nominations will be accepted until October 15th.
