My name is Megan Schulz. I am an alumni of Albany High School and I am excited to be back as the school counselor. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and my Master of Science in Education in Professional Counseling with an emphasis in School Counseling from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. As a school counselor, I can help students in a variety of ways through academics, career exploration, and social/emotional issues and struggles. My goal as a school counselor is to help all students find and develop what they are passionate about in life. I enjoy playing sports, being outdoors, and spending time with my family.
The role of a school counselor: I take great pride in addressing the whole student and their unique needs, concerns, and strengths. I work with students specifically on academic achievement and growth, career exploration and decision making, and the social/emotional needs to the student. All of these areas greatly impact the learning a student engages in and the successful completion of high school and post-graduation plans and goals. Students may experience working with me in a variety of situations from guidance in the classroom to helping them develop their Academic and Career Planning Portfolio to small group counseling.
Communication-the human connection-is the key to personal and career success.
