Director of Extended Day Program
Job Description
The Albany School District is seeking a dynamic director to lead our after-school program. The director is responsible for overseeing and planning daily activities, preparing learning materials, and helping students with homework.
To ensure success as an after-school director, the successful candidate must be able to encourage social, physical, and intellectual growth within children and possess a strategic mindset. A friendly demeanor, a basic understanding of child developmental needs, and the ability to create a welcoming environment are essential.
General Job Responsibilities
Provide for the safety and health of participants.
Communicate with parents as appropriate.
Assist children with assignments and homework.
Work with administrators to develop monthly planning.
Prepare learning materials and equipment, such as books, arts and crafts, stationery, and other supplies as needed.
Organize and supervise students with activities within the classroom and community.
Interact with children to provide guidance, emotional support, and motivation to complete tasks.
Maintain supervision of students until they are properly transferred to parental/guardian supervision.
Qualifications
Experience working with children aged 4 through 12
A degree in early childhood education, teaching, or a similar field is preferred but not required
CPR/First Aid certified. Certification can be obtained after hire (cost covered by district)
Days of the Week: Monday through Friday when school is in session
Time: 3:00 - 6:00 PM
Compensation: $25/Hour
