Seeking Nominations For Local Veterans!
The Albany High School Civics students and local volunteers are looking to honor a local veteran on Veterans Day! The purpose is to nominate a local veteran that you feel is deserving of a quilt in recognition of their service to our country. Nominations can be made on behalf of local veterans or local veterans are able to nominate themselves. Nomination forms can be found at Greenwood State Bank, Albany Village Hall, Albertson Memorial Library, and soon the Albany Legion.
Once nominations are received, the Quilt Award committee will go through the nominations and pick an individual to receive their quilt at the Veterans Assembly hosted by the School District of Albany around Veterans Day. Due to the number of deserving local veterans, we are not accepting nominations for active duty members of the military at this time. Also, we are unable to give a quilt posthumously.
All nominations can be dropped off in the Albany School District office or mailed to the address below. All nominations must be postmarked or dropped off at the office by October 10th, 2024. The number of quilts awarded is determined by the number of donated quilts the committee has to distribute each year.
Please return your form by mail to Albany School District c/o Jeff Campbell, 309 Vinton St., P.O. Box 349, Albany, WI 53502. You may also drop off the form directly to the district office.
If you have any questions, please contact Jeff Campbell at jeff.campbell@albany.k12.wi.us or call (608) 862-3135 Ext. 2113.
